Where are we now?


You are reading this page at a very exciting time! The project is just beginning - there are pieces of hardware and interfaces being designed. Currently, there's a bit of a framework in progress, and we are hooking up motorcycle batteries and motors to an industrial NUC PC on the framework below. This will be a body - we can get designing locomotion (wheels/legs), manipulators and sensor centres to hang off it. The aim is to create examples of useful platforms (the we can sell!) from off-the-shelf parts, as a basis for our platforms - these things need to be serviceable with existing infrastructure.

Modules will conform to, but expand ISO 9409-1:2004, and use our interface to create a range of solutions. Robotics is always the most exciting discipline - with electronics, control and AI software as well as mechanical design coming together at the same time...
